While we are on the subject of Boulder Fixed Gear…you also gotta check out the Thursday night ride. Meet at the buffalo on campus near the football stadium. The ride is not paced too fast, but not too slow like the Thursday Night Cruiser ride. Usually they stop for ‘refreshments’ a few times along the way.
There’s also the Thursday Night Cruiser ride…sometimes its a good time to join up with them after the fixed gear ride. From high school kiddo’s to oldies, everyone takes part in this ride. During the summer the ride can be a few blocks long and regularly stops traffic. Several guys have trailers bumpin’ tunes. Recently, however, Boulder Police have been cracking down on open containers and underage drinking. Bike cops are usually riding along with the crowd so keep your shit on the DL.
Once the warm weather passes, the ride shuts down until next summer.
